16th relief aid trip

During the autumn 2024 we collected donations with small-scale money collection permit. Donations were used to get relief aid supplies delivered to Kharkiv.

A group of volunteers took a bus we secured in Ostrobothnia to Joensuu and later all the way to Kharkiv. Relief supplies were collected from all over Finland and the bus was filled to the brim. Included were hospital beds, aggregates, disinfectants, clothes, food, stretchers, tools and supplies for the soldiers.

For the first time we also had passengers who covered their own travelling expenses and donated some more for the cause. The volunteers flew out via Warsaw after the bus was handed over in Kharkiv.

We also received a Volkswagen passenger car as a private donation. VW was driven to Zamosci on the same journey with the bus. The handover unfortunately did not happen as easily as before as the recipients were not able to cross the Ukraine-Poland border. As a result, the vehicles arrived in Kharkiv several days behind planned schedule.
